- Large group instruction
Character education topics include respect, responsibility, goal setting, personal safety, citizenship, mindfulness, etc.
- Small group counseling
Counselors will meet with small groups of students (3-8) to discuss social/emotional and academic skills. The topics may vary from emotional regulation, organization, coping skills, inner motivation, study habits, etc. Parents, teachers, and students may refer themselves to this service. If an the opportunity is available, students will bring home a permission slip outlining the group details.
-Individual counseling
Counseling is based on counselor, faculty, staff, parent, and student referrals. Parents and guardians can contact the counseling department to request services for their child. The "see the counselor" slip referral system allows students in grades 3-5 to refer themselves to counseling if they have an issue that they wish to speak to the school counselor privately. However, parent permission is required for students seeing the counselor multiple times for the same issue.
